Gun Safe is currently undergoing major system updates to support new legislative requirements under the Terrorism and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2025 (TOLA).
At this stage, the following Gun Safe applications are unavailable:
- Permit to Acquire a Firearm (PTA) applications will be unavailable from 1 July 2026 to 9 July 2026
- Firearms licence renewal applications will remain offline until further notice
Important:
- Applications cannot be submitted while these services are unavailable
- We are working to restore all services as a priority
If a firearms licence is due to expire during this period, the Firearms Registry will contact affected licence holders to provide support.
