NSW Firearms Registry Transformation Project - Dealers Portal

The Firearms Transformation Project is currently digitising Firearms Registry business processes, and a new system to support the acquisition and disposal of firearms by NSW Firearms Dealers is the first module of delivery.

The NSW Firearms Registry are excited to showcase this streamlined system to you which will provide NSW Firearms Dealers with a secure and real-time process for the movement of firearms, providing enhanced safety outcomes for Firearms Dealers, the Public, and members of the NSW Police Force.

This system will provide the benefits of enhanced recording, monitoring, auditing, and reporting functionality for Firearms Dealers, whilst enhancing related compliance capabilities for the NSW Police Force.

The next few months will see a rollout of the system to Firearms Dealers across NSW. Enjoy the showcase.

A firearms dealer licence issued under the Firearms Act 1996 authorises the dealer to possess, manufacture, convert, acquire, supply, repair, maintain or test firearms or firearm parts.

There are three types of firearms dealer licences: a firearms dealer, a theatrical armourer and a club armourer.

The links below provide information on each of these licences, including what each licence authorises and the legislative requirements for each licence.
