On the ground support for all NSWPF employees. Mental Health Clinicians are embedded mental health professionals focused on the enhancement of physical and psychological wellbeing to staff of all levels. Mental Health Clinicians provide short-term, solution-focused support including advice, strategies, education, and referrals to internal and external services.

EATI reimburses out-of-pocket expenses for psychological support received from an eligible allied mental health service provider under a Mental Health Treatment Plan. It is a confidential program, independent to Workers Compensation, available to all NSWPF employees.

Peer Support Officers

NSWPF employees who have undergone a selection and assessment process prior to completing an intensive two day training program Peer Support Officers (PSOs) are there to support their colleagues by listening and understanding various situations and guiding them to appropriate support services.

Provide advice or psychoeducation on specific topics to address issues or concerns, conduct WellChecks (psychological monitoring for employees in high-risk duty types), conduct all psychometric assessment for specialist units and recruits, and fitness for duty assessments in conjunction with the Police Medical Officer.
