A new portrait style security licence card design was introduced on 1 June 2023. The two previous landscape designs are no longer being issued but remain valid until the licence expires.

Version 1 (new portrait style)

  • Issued from 1 June 2023
  • Portrait style with white background
  • Licence number begins with 000, 41, 44 or S
  • Security hologram on front and rear (NSW Government logo and NSW Police Force logo)
  • Licensee’s name and signature on rear
  • Licensee’s photograph on front
  • Licence number and expiry date on front (including month and year in large font)
  • New licence classes displayed on front:
    • 1A indicates new Security Officer subclass
    • 1C indicates new Cash-in-Transit Guard subclass
  • Individual card number on front
  • Licence class descriptors (held subclasses only) on rear.

  • Security hologram on front and rear (NSW Coat of Arms and Map of NSW)
  • Licensee’s name and signature on front
  • Licensee’s photograph on front
  • Licence number and expiry date on front (including Month and Year in large font)
  • Old licence classes displayed on front:
    • 1A and/or 1C indicates authorised to carry on new 1A (Security Officer) subclass activities
    • 1F indicates authorised to carry on 1F (Armed Guard) and new 1C (Cash-in-Transit Guard) activities
  • Individual card number on front
  • Licence class descriptors (held subclasses only) on rear.
