Appeal for information after threatening letters sent to hotels

Police are appealing for information after a man was seen placing threatening letters to hotels in Sydney last month.
Officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command have commenced investigations after a man was seen attaching threatening letters to two hotel buildings in Sydney on Wednesday 27 August 2025 and Thursday 2 September 2025.
Police were told a man approached the two buildings on Martin Place and Hickson Road and affixed multiple envelopes on the building containing threatening messages, before leaving the scene.
The letters have been seized for forensic examinations.
As investigations continue, police are seeking assistance to identify a man they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.
The man is described as being of Asian/Indian subcontinental appearance, possibly in his 20s, with a moustache and beard and short black hair.
He was wearing a black checkered long sleeve shirt, black pants, black running shoes, with a black shoulder bag and a “boombox’ slung over his shoulder.
Anyone who may have been in the vicinity between 10.30am on Wednesday 27 August 2025 and 11pm on Thursday 2 September 2025 is urged to contact Sydney City Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
