About 8.15pm last Friday (10 December 2021), officers attached to Barrier Police District attended a home on Wilson Street, Broken Hill, to speak with a man.

When officers entered the home, a man allegedly fled through the back door, jumping a number of fences.

After a short foot pursuit, the 26-year-old man was arrested on Morish Street and taken to Broken Hill Police Station.

He was charged with the outstanding warrant for domestic violence offences, enter inclosed land not prescribed premises without lawful excuse, and resist officer in execution of duty.

He was refused bail to appear at Broken Hill Local Court today (Monday 13 December 2021).

During the foot pursuit, a male constable sustained a laceration to his hand. He was taken to Broken Hill Hospital for treatment and has since been released.
