UPDATED: Additional charges following FPO search - Strike Force Hawk

Two men will appear in court tomorrow after further charges were laid as part of an ongoing operation to prevent and disrupt criminal networks in South West Sydney.

Strike Force Hawk was initiated by the South West Metropolitan (SWM) Region earlier this month in response to public acts of violence.

The operation is being run in conjunction with the State Crime Command’s Raptor Squad, which has been proactively targeting more than 300 identified members and associates of criminal networks.

As part of inquiries, about 9.25am (Saturday 30 October 2021), officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command executed a Firearms Prohibition Order search at a home on Linthorne street, Guilford.

Upon searching the premise, police seized an electronic stun device.

A 20-year-old man was arrested and taken to Granville Police station where he was charged with possess or use prohibited weapon without a permit and use a prohibited weapon contrary to prohibition order.

Later that morning about 11.30am, officers attached to the State Crime Command’s Raptor Squad executed a search warrant at a home on Ollier Crescent, Prospect.

During the search, police seized $9820 cash, five mobile phones, cocaine, keys, a replica Glock style pistol, a knife, and clothing items relevant to the investigation.

The items will undergo further examination.

A 19-year-old man was arrested and taken to Blacktown Police Station, where he was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of others, two counts of supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis, two counts of supply prohibited drug, deal with property proceeds of crime, possess unauthorised pistol, and possess prohibited drug.

He was also charged with a breach of bail.

Police will allege in court the 19-year-old man was involved in an assault in Guildford on Thursday (28 October 2021).

Both men were refused bail to appear before Parramatta Bail Court tomorrow (Sunday 31 October 2021).
