Driver charged after pedestrian injured - Forresters Beach

A man has been charged after a pedestrian was injured following a crash on the state’s Central Coast overnight.

Just after 7.30pm on Thursday (28 October 2021), emergency services were called to Mistview Circuit, Forresters Beach, following reports a pedestrian had been hit by a car.

On arrival, officers attached to Brisbane Water Police District were told the driver of a white Ford Ranger utility had allegedly crashed into a parked Volkswagen Amarok utility, before hitting a pedestrian and fleeing the scene.

The pedestrian – a 42-year-old man – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to Gosford Hospital in a stable condition.

Following investigations, about 10pm, officers attached to Tuggerah Lakes Police District attended a home at Marlowe Road, Bateau Bay, and arrested a 26-year-old man.

During the arrest, police will allege the man became aggressive and assaulted a male senior constable.

Police seized a white Ford Ranger utility and $5,945 cash from the home.

The man was taken to Gosford Police Station and charged with cause bodily harm by misconduct in charge of motor vehicle, negligent driving (no death or grievous bodily harm), assault officer in execution of duty, resist officer in execution of duty and fail to stop and assist after impact cause injury.

He was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Gosford Local Court on Wednesday 8 December 2021.

The man’s driver’s licence was also suspended.
