Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a woman missing from the Bankstown area.

Catherine "Mimi" NGUYEN, aged 21, was last seen at her home on Elliston Street, Chester Hill, about 6pm yesterday (Tuesday 26 October 2021).

Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command commenced an investigation into her whereabouts when she was reported missing by a family member.

Police and family hold serious concerns for Mimi’s welfare as she requires special care as she is on the autism spectrum and is ‘non-verbal’.

Mimi is described as being of Asian appearance, about 160-165cm tall, of medium build, with black, shoulder-length hair.

She was last seen wearing black pants, a t-shirt, pink shoes and a multi-coloured bracelet on her wrist.

Police have been told Mimi regularly utilises the public transport network from Sefton Railway Station and is known to attend the city.

Anyone who sees Mimi or has information on her whereabouts is urged to contact Bankstown Police on (02) 97458499 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence. The public is reminded not to report crime via NSW Police social media pages.
