A man will face court charged with biosecurity offences following a search warrant at a property near Bathurst last month.

About 9am on Friday 29 October 2021, investigators attached to the Rural Crime Prevention Team executed a search warrant at a property on Limekilns Road, Clear Creek, after information was received following the sale of cattle.

The search warrant was supported by officers from the Rural Crime Prevention Teams from Chifley Police District, Orana Mid-Western Police District, Hawkesbury Police Area Command and Camden Police Area Command.

During the search, officers found a number of discrepancies in relation to the relevant documentation and tagging of the cattle. DNA samples of the cattle were taken and sent for forensic analysis.

Following inquiries, about 10.30am yesterday (Wednesday 24 November 2021), a 49-year-old man was issued a Court Attendance Notice and charged under the Biosecurity Act 2015 with two counts of fail to comply with mandatory measures.

The man will appear at Oberon Local Court on Tuesday 8 March 2021.
