Images released as inquiries into train assault continue - Parramatta

Investigators have released CCTV images as inquiries continue into the assault of a man on a train in Parramatta earlier this year.

Police have been told about 10.30pm on Saturday 10 April 2021, a man and woman had an argument on a train stopped on Platform 4 at Parramatta Railway Station, before three males entered the carriage and allegedly began to punch and kick the man.

The 35-year-old man suffered a laceration to his hand and moved to another carriage, however, the males followed and continued to assault him, before they fled from the station towards Fitzwilliam Street, Parramatta.

Police were notified and officers from the Police Transport and Public Safety Command North West Sector and Proactive Crime Team attended and commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, a 27-year-old man was arrested at a correctional centre on Thursday 29 July 2021.

He was charged with use offensive weapon in company with intent (indictable) and affray and he is next due to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Thursday 9 December 2021.

As investigations continue, police have released CCTV of two males who may be able to assist with ongoing inquiries.

The first male is described as being of Caucasian appearance, of thin build, wearing a white cap, black jumper, black tracksuit pants and black and white sneakers.

The second male is described as being of African appearance, of medium build, wearing a black jumper, grey tracksuit pants black, a black coloured cap, and blue and white sneakers.
