Detectives investigating armed robberies at two licensed premises in the state’s south earlier this year have released CCTV images and are appealing for public information that may assist their inquiries.

Just before 9pm on Saturday 5 June 2021, a man – who was armed with a firearm – approached the front of a club on Potato Point Road, Bodalla, and threatened a male employee before fleeing.

The staff member was not injured during the incident and contacted officers from South Coast Police District, who commenced inquiries.

An extensive search of the area was conducted; however, the man was not located.

Separately, just before 7pm on Tuesday 15 June 2021, two men armed with a firearm and machete forced entry into a club on Ruth Place, Dalmeny, and threatened a female attendant who had locked herself in a storeroom.

After the 49-year-old employee refused to leave the storeroom the duo fled; taking the woman’s keys and her Holden sedan from the venue’s car park.

Although shaken, the woman was not injured during the incident and contacted police.

Two crime scenes were established after the woman’s Holden was found abandoned nearby on Acacia Place.

In June, a 41-year-old man was charged for his alleged involvement in the Dalmeny robbery and remains before the courts.

Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad have since taken carriage of the investigation into both incidents under Strike Force Sansey.

As inquiries continue, detectives are appealing to the public for information and have released CCTV of two men who may be able to assist with ongoing inquiries.

The man depicted in CCTV images from the Bodalla property is described as being about 180cm tall, of a solid build, wearing a grey coloured hooded jumper, white coloured face covering, dark coloured pants, and orange coloured gloves. He is armed with a shortened firearm.

Meanwhile, the man depicted in CCTV images from the Dalmeny incident is described as being about 170-180cm tall, wearing a dark green hooded jumper, white gloves, and dark coloured long pants.

Robbery and Serious Crime Squad Commander, Detective Superintendent Andrew Koutsoufis, said investigators are urging the community to look closely at the CCTV images to help officers identify the men.

“Although no one was injured, both of these incidents are very serious and traumatic in nature for those involved,” Det Supt Koutsoufis said.

“Investigators have already put one of the alleged offenders before the court however we’re again calling on the community to assist with information into both incidents.”
