Two male occupants were able to remove themselves from the ute.

The passenger, a 19-year-old man from Greenacre, fled the scene on foot and was located nearby.

The driver, a 30-year-old man from Yagoona, was arrested. He participated in a roadside breath test that returned a negative result.

He was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital for further tests, including treatment for head and shoulder injuries.
