Police investigate triple fatality - Central Coast

A woman and two children have died in a crash on the state’s Central Coast overnight.

Just before 10pm (Tuesday 21 September 2021), a Toyota Prado – being driven by a woman with five children on board – was travelling on Wisemans Ferry Road, Central Mangrove.

As the Toyota approached Nurses Road, it left the roadway and rolled down an embankment, hitting a tree.

A motorist travelling on Wisemans Ferry Road came across the crash and notified emergency services.

Officers from Brisbane Water Police District and Central Coast Traffic and Highway Patrol attended along with NSW Ambulance paramedics.

The driver, a 32-year-old woman, and two children – a six-year-old girl and ten-year-old boy – died at the scene.

A further three children, boys aged one, five, and nine, were treated at the scene before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital where they remain in stable conditions.

The driver of the Hyundai Accent, a 37-year-old man, was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Specialist officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit attended and forensically examined the scene.

Inquiries continue into the circumstances surrounding the crash. A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
