Robbery and Serious Crime Squad detectives are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery in Sydney’s west earlier this year.

About 6pm on Tuesday 8 June 2021, a man – armed with crowbar and a firearm – entered a business at a shopping centre on Church Street, Parramatta.

The man threatened two female employees and demanded cash.

A third woman, who arrived at the business, was also threatened before the man stole watches and gold jewellery.

The man then fled the store on foot, and was last seen heading west on Campbell Street, Parramatta.

The women were not physically injured during the incident.

Initial inquiries were conducted by officers attached to Parramatta Police Area Command, before the State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad took carriage of the investigation under Strike Force Festival.

As investigations continue, detectives have released CCTV vision of a man who may be able to assist with ongoing inquiries.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 180cm tall, of slim build, with dark hair and small eyes.

He is depicted in the vision wearing a black hooded-jumper, black pants, dark coloured sunglasses, a black face mask and gloves. He was also carrying a black backpack.

Police are appealing for anyone with information, or who may have dashcam footage from the area at the time of the incident, to come forward.

Investigations are continuing.

Anyone with information that may assist investigators is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence. The public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages.
