An investigation is underway following a public place shooting in Sydney’s north west yesterday.

About 7.15pm (Tuesday 27 April 2021), officers from Ryde Police Area Command were called to a home on Gaza Avenue near Barons Crescent, Hunters Hill, after reports shots had been fired.

Police have been told the occupants in the home at the time – a man aged 50 and two women aged 49 and 22 – had just finished dinner when the shots were fired at the front of the home. No injuries were reported.

Upon arrival, police located bullet casings and a vehicle with holes in the driveway. Front windows and an internal wall of the house also sustained damage.

A crime scene was established, which was examined by specialist forensic police, and detectives commenced an investigation into the incident.

A search of the surrounding area was conducted, with assistance from PolAir and the Dog Unit.

Initial inquiries suggest a male ran from the scene on foot to the intersection of High Street and Gaza Avenue, where it is believed he may have entered a vehicle.

As inquiries continue, anyone who may have CCTV, dashcam or any information that could assist detectives is urged to contact Ryde Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
