Two charged after man assaulted and stabbed - Panania

Two men have been charged over the alleged assault and stabbing of a man in Sydney’s south-west last year.
About 7am on Wednesday 23 September 2020, emergency services were called to Clifford Street near Dalziel Avenue at Panania, following reports a man had been assaulted.
Police have been told the 34-year-old man was standing next to his vehicle, when a Nissan Navara with a green P-plate, pulled up beside him.
Three unknown men alighted from the Nissan and assaulted the man, before he was stabbed.
The group then fled the scene in the Nissan and were last seen heading toward Lambert Street.
Neighbours notified emergency services and the injured man was treated at the scene, before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition. He underwent surgery and has since been released.
Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic police.
In September last year, detectives attached to the State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad took carriage of the investigation under Strike Force Bambridge.
Following extensive inquires, strike force detectives arrested a 21-year-old man at a home at Heckenberg, about 7am today (Thursday 22 April 2021).
He was taken to Liverpool Police Station and charged with cause wounding/grievous bodily harm to person with intent to murder, and assault person intend criminal activity of criminal group.
The man was refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court tomorrow (Friday 23 April 2021).
About 8am, investigators attended a home at Ashcroft and arrested a 22-year-old man. He was taken to Liverpool Police Station; however, he was later released without charge.
About 10.15am, a 22-year old man was arrested at a home at Busby and taken to Liverpool Police Station.
He was charged with cause wounding/grievous bodily harm to person with intent to murder, and assault person intend criminal activity of criminal group.
The man was also refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court tomorrow.
