Woman arrested following pursuit - Batemans Bay

A woman has been arrested following a short pursuit on the state’s South Coast today.

Just before 12.30pm (Thursday 3 June 2021), officers attached to South Coast Police District were conducting patrols along Beach Road, Batemans Bay, when they noticed a blue Ford Focus linked to an earlier incident at Queanbeyan East.

It will be alleged the car was used to flee the scene after an unknown man, armed with a knife, threatened two men – aged 32 and 60 – in the car park of a fast food restaurant on Waniassa Road about about 6.15am today.

Officers from Monaro Police District commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, the Ford was seen at Batemans Bay, and officers attached to South Coast Police District initiated a pursuit.

The driver – a 36-year-old woman – is currently assisting police with inquiries.

Investigations are continuing to locate her two passengers – a male and a female.
