Police have released CCTV footage as they continue to investigate a break and enter at a Wagga Wagga unit last month, where a man and woman were assaulted.
About 6.30am on Sunday 11 April 2021, a 46-year-old woman walked outside a unit on Kokoda Street, Ashmont, after hearing noises.
Police have been told the woman was assaulted by three unknown people, who forced her back inside and smashed the front window.
The group demanded money from a second occupant, a 68-year-old man, before hitting him over the head and torso with a shovel.
It’s further alleged the woman was forced onto a mattress in the lounge room, before her bag was stolen.
The trio fled the scene and were last seen heading west on Kokoda Street, before turning south on Tarakan Avenue.
Police were notified and officers from Riverina Police District commenced inquiries.
As police continue their inquiries, they have released CCTV footage of three people who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
One person is described as being 180cm tall with a thin build wearing black clothes and white shoes.
Another person is described as being 180cm tall with a heavy build. They were wearing a light grey hoodie and dark tracksuit pants at the time of the incident.
The third person depicted in the CCTV is shorter, wearing a light grey hoodie with a sleeveless dark jacket over the top, and light brown work boots.
