Fourth person charged over alleged drug supply - The Hume PD

Police have charged a fourth person following ongoing investigations into the alleged supply of illicit drugs in the state’s south.

In February 2021, investigators attached to The Hume Police District established Strike Force Mariam to investigate the alleged distribution of methylamphetamine and cannabis in the Young and Grenfell areas.

Following extensive inquiries, Strike Force detectives charged three people on Wednesday (12 May 2021). They remain before the courts.

Following further inquiries, police attended a Cooyal Street address, Cowra, about 11.30am yesterday (Thursday 13 May 2021).

Police spoke to the occupant – a 35-year-old woman – who was allegedly found in possession of methylamphetamine and cannabis.

A search of the home allegedly uncovered methylamphetamine.

The woman was arrested and taken to Cowra Police Station where she was charged with 16 counts of supply prohibited drug, two counts of possess prohibited drug, supply drug on an ongoing basis, deal with proceeds of crime and participate in criminal group.

She was refused bail to appear at Orange Local Court today (Friday 14 May 2021).

Investigations are continuing, and further arrests are expected.
