Woman charged with drug supply after traffic stop - Parramatta

A woman has been charged with serious drug offences following a vehicle stop in Sydney’s west yesterday.

About 9pm (Thursday 4 March 2021), officers attached to Darling Mills Traffic and Highway Patrol were patrolling the Parramatta area when they observed a Suzuki hatchback travelling on Parkes Street, Parramatta.

Police stopped the vehicle on nearby Church Street and spoke with the driver, a 29-year-old man.

He was submitted to a roadside drug test before being arrested and subjected to a second oral test at Parramatta Police Station. Police are awaiting the results.

Police also spoke to one of the passengers, a 29-year-old woman, who produced a small bottle of clear liquid from her clothing.

The woman was arrested, and officers conducted a search of the vehicle, seizing another bottle of clear liquid from under a seat. The woman then produced a third bottle of clear liquid from her clothing.

The substances are believed to be gamma butyrolactone (GBL), weighing 146.5 grams.

The woman was taken to Parramatta Police Station where she was charged with supply prohibited drug -indictable quantity.

She was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Friday 5 March 2021).
