Charges after man stabbed - Inverell

A man will face court today charged after another man was allegedly stabbed during a domestic violence-related incident in the state’s New England region.
About 11pm (Wednesday 21 April 2021), emergency services were called to a house on Wattle place, Inverell, following reports a man had been stabbed.
Officers from New England Police District, along with NSW Ambulance paramedics found a man on the pavement with a stab wounds to the stomach.
The 22-year-old man was taken to Inverell Hospital before being transferred to Tamworth Base Hospital in a critical condition.
A 25-year-old man was arrested outside the home and taken to Inverell Police Station.
Two crime scenes were established, which have been examined by specialist forensic police.
Detectives have commenced an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
The older man has now been charged with wound person intend to cause grievous bodily harm (DV).
He has been refused bail to appear before Inverell Local Court today (Thursday 22 April 2021).
