Investigation underway after police car rammed - Moama

An investigation is underway after a police car was rammed in the state’s south at the weekend.
About 11.30pm on Sunday (4 April 2021), officers from Murray River Police District were patrolling Redgums Drive, Moama, when they noticed a man running towards a white Ford Falcon utility, believed to be stolen.
As police approached, the man, armed with a rifle, entered the utility and drove towards the marked police car, ramming it several times before reversing through a metal fence.
The utility was last seen driving in an easterly direction along Perricoota Road.
No police officers were injured during the incident. The police car sustained minor damage.
Police are appealing for information and would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist them. He is described as being approximately 175cm tall and was wearing dark clothing with his face covered at the time of the incident.
Investigations are ongoing and anyone with information is urged to come forward.
