Police have released CCTV footage as they appeal for information into an armed robbery at a hotel in Sydney’s west last year.
About 3:40am on Friday 22 November 2019, two unknown men armed with knives entered a hotel on Haldon Street, Lakemba, and threatened two staff members before stealing a mobile phone and cash from a safe.
The men fled the scene on foot, travelling south down Quigg Street, Lakemba, before getting into a dark coloured SUV.
No one was physically injured during the robbery.
Officers attached to Campsie Police Area Command established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic officers.
In November last year, detectives from the State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad established Strike Force Dehlsen to investigate the armed robbery.
As their inquiries continue, strike force detectives have released CCTV from the hotel showing two men they believe may be able to assist them with their inquiries.
The first man is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, shorter than 185cm, with a moustache. At the time of the robbery, he was seen wearing gloves, a navy hooded jacket, dark pants, and a black balaclava.
The second man is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, about 185cm tall. At the time he was wearing gloves, an orange and black Rugby League club hooded jumper, a black balaclava, black chino style pants and he was carrying a navy bag.
Inquiries are continuing.
