Woman and child seriously injured in crash - Plumpton

Police are at the scene of a serious crash in Sydney’s north-west.

Just after 7.20pm today (Wednesday 17 March 2021), emergency services were called to Rooty Hill Road North, Plumpton, after reports two pedestrians had been hit by a Toyota Tarago.

Officers from Mount Druitt Police Area Command attended, assisted by the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command.

Two pedestrians, a woman and child, were treated by paramedics.

The five-year-old girl was taken to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a critical condition.

The woman suffered leg and back injuries and has been taken to Westmead Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The male driver of the Toyota has been taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene has been established as inquiries continue into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Rooty Hill Road North remains closed in both directions between Bottles and Powers Road. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
