Driver arrested after fatal pedestrian crash involving two vehicles - Hornsby

A driver has been arrested after a pedestrian suffered fatal injuries in a two vehicle crash in Sydney’s north west.

Shortly after 8pm yesterday (Friday 14 November 2025), emergency servies responded to reports that a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle that had been involved in a crash with another vehicle at the entrance of a carpark on George Street, Hornsby.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 33-year-old female pedestrian – who was eight months pregnant – at the scene before she was taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical and unstable condition.

The 19-year-old male driver of a white BMW and a 48-year-old male driver of a silver Kia Carnival stationwagon were uninjured.

Both drivers were taken to Hornsby Hospital for mandatory testing.

No other occupants were in the vehicles.

Officers from Ku-Ring-Gai Police Area Command established a crime scene that was examined by officers from the Crash Investigation Unit.

About 12.45am today (Saturday 15 November 2025), the 19-year-old man was arrested at a home in Millewa Avenue, Wahroonga, and taken to Hornsby Police Station where inquiries are continuing.

Police have since been informed that the woman – and the baby – have since died.
