Three charged after guns, drugs seized during Sydney operation - Strike Force Dartnall

Three men have been charged after firearms – including a 3D-printed pistol and a SKS self-loading rifle – and almost $23,000 cash were seized during a four-month investigation under Strike Force Dartnall.

Strike Force Dartnall was established in June 2025 by officers attached to the Central Metropolitan Region – Region Enforcement Squad South to investigate firearm possession and supply, as well as the supply of prohibited drugs in the Sydney metropolitan area.

During the first few weeks of the investigation, police seized a .223 pump action rifle and a .22 calibre 3D-printed pistol, as well as firearm parts, and drugs.

Following further inquiries, police arrested three men yesterday (Tuesday 28 October 2025), seizing an SKS self-loading rifle, three magazines and 76 rounds of ammunition, as well as knuckledusters, capsicum spray, and 2kg of MDMA. The drugs have an estimated potential street value of $300,000.

Four search warrants were subsequently executed at homes in Mortlake, Barangaroo, Condell Park and Ashfield, with police seizing almost $23,000 cash and drugs including methylamphetamine, heroin, and ketamine. As a result,

  • A 32-year-old Condell Park man has been charged with 48 offences, including 16 firearm-related offences and 20 drug-related offences including three counts of supply prohibited drug – greater than large commercial quantity.
  • A 37-year-old Mortlake man was charged with two offences including supply prohibited drug – greater than large commercial quantity, and knowingly deal with the proceeds of crime.
  • A 31-year-old Ashfield man was charged with three offences including supply prohibited drug greater than large commercial quantity, knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, and fail to comply digital evidence access order direction.

Investigations under Strike Force Dartnall are ongoing.
