Two charged after drugs seized during road stop near Yass

A man and woman will face court today, after police seized a commercial quantity of the prohibited drug, GBH, during a road stop in the state’s south.
About 5.45pm yesterday (Monday 13 October 2025), police stopped a vehicle on the Hume Highway near Berremangra, about 47km west of Yass.
Officers searched the car and seized two 500ml bottles of GBH, which has an estimated potential street value of $5,000.
A 29-year-old woman and 35-year-old man were arrested and taken to Yass Police Station.
The man was charged with supply prohibited drug (greater than or equal to commercial quantity), possess prohibited drug, drive motor vehicle during disqualification period, and drive or ride state false name or home address.
The woman was charged with supply prohibited drug (greater than or equal to commercial quantity) and possess prohibited drug.
They were refused bail to appear in Bail Division Court 3 today (Tuesday 14 October 2025).
