Appeal for information after man injured during crash - Fairfield

Police are appealing for information after a car crashed into a power pole in Sydney’s south west.
About 1.15pm on Sunday (12 October 2025), emergency services were called to the intersection of The Horsley Drive and Cockburn Crescent, Fairfield, following reports of a crash.
Officers attached to Liverpool City Highway Patrol attended and found a van had left the roadway and crashed into a power pole – trapping the driver and rear passenger.
The passenger – a 30-year-old man – was freed by Fire and Rescue NSW and treated by NSW Ambulance for significant leg injuries, before being taken to hospital for further treatment.
The driver – 49-year-old man – was treated at the scene and taken to hospital for further treatment and mandatory testing.
A crime scene was established and investigations commenced with assistance from the Crash Investigation Unit.
The vehicle was seized for forensic examination.
