Strike Force Vado formed to investigate woman's death near Mt Druitt

Inquiries are continuing following the discovery of a woman’s body in her home in Sydney’s west yesterday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Comet Street, Melonba near Marsden Park, about 12.30pm (Saturday 4 October 2025), due to a concern for welfare.

Officers attached to Mt Druitt Police Area Command attended and found the body of an 84-year-old woman in her bedroom. Her death is being treated as suspicious.

A crime scene has been established and detectives from Mt Druitt PAC and State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad have commenced an investigation under Strike Force Vado.

A post-mortem examination is expected to be conducted in coming days to determine the woman’s cause of death.
