Man dies in drowning - Central Coast

A man has died after being pulled unconscious from the water at a beach on the Central Coast today.

About 3.05pm (Wednesday 24 September 2025), emergency services were called to Soldiers Beach, Norah Head, following reports a swimmer was in trouble in the water.

The man was pulled from the water unresponsive and treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, however he died at the scene.

While he is yet to be formally identified, he is believed to be aged in his 50s.

Officers attached to Tuggerah Lakes Police District attended and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
