Delivery rider hospitalised following alleged stabbing - Ultimo

A delivery rider has been taken to hospital following an alleged assault in Sydney’s inner suburbs.

About 9.15pm today (Monday 18 August 2025), emergency services were called to Mary Ann Street, Ultimo, following reports a delivery driver had been stabbed.

On arrival, police were told the rider – a 24-year-old man – had allegedly been pushed from his bike to the ground by an unknown man, before he was stabbed several times with a screwdriver.

The unidentified man walked away toward Wattle Street.

The 24-year-old was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.
