Raptor Squad officers charge three over allegedly staging vehicles

Police will address the media as Raptor Squad officers charge two men and a teenage boy after allegedly staging vehicles to be used in a planned public-place shooting.

Shortly after midnight (Wednesday 13 August 2025), officers attached to the State Crime Command’s Raptor Squad – with assistance from the Tactical Operation Unit, North West Metropolitan Region, Central Metropolitan Region, PolAir and Dog Unit - conducted a high-risk vehicle stop of a car at the intersection of the M4 and Prospect Highway, Blacktown.

During the vehicle intercept, police utilised bean bag rounds to affect the arrest of two occupants – a 21-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy.

The man suffered a dog bite during the arrest and was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Blacktown Hospital, while the teenager was taken to Blacktown Police Station.

About the same time, officers stopped a SUV travelling along Parramatta Road, Granville.

Police arrested the driver and sole occupant – a 39-year-old man – without incident. He was taken to Granville Police Station.

A search warrant was later executed at a home on Roebuck Crescent, Willmot, where police located and seized a loaded Smith & Wesson .357 Magnum revolver, cash and electronic devices.

The 39-year-old man was charged with recklessly deal with proceeds of crime, possess unauthorised pistol, not keep firearm safely-pistol, possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority and drive motor vehicle while licence suspended.

He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court today (Wednesday 13 August 2025).

The 17-year-old boy was charged with two counts of drive conveyance taken w/o consent of owner, participate criminal group contribute criminal activity and never licenced person drive vehicle on road.

He was refused bail to appear before a children’s court today.

Police will allege in court the pair were involved in staging the vehicles for a planned public place shooting.

The 21-year-old man was issued with a Field Court Attendance Notice for drive while disqualified, and breach of bail. He will appear in court at a later date.
