Fatal single-vehicle crash - New England PD

A man has died in a crash in the state’s New England region.

About 6.35pm today (Friday 8 August 2025), emergency services were called to Gwydir River Road, about 5km south of Bundarra, following reports of a crash.

Officers attached to New England Police District attended and found a Mazda utility had left the roadway and crashed into a tree.

The driver and sole occupant – a 19-year-old man – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he died at the scene.

Police established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
