Narromine man charged after assaulting police

A man will face court today charged after allegedly breaching bail and assaulting police in the state’s Central West.
About 8.30pm yesterday (Tuesday 3 September 2024), officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District attended a home on Dandaloo Street, Narromine, to speak with a man.
After speaking with the 38-year-old man he was arrested and taken to Dubbo Police Station.
Upon arrival at the station the man allegedly resisted police in the dock thrashing about before biting an officer on the arm.
A Sergeant attended Dubbo Base Hospital for treatment of the bit wound, and multiple scratches.
The man was charged with two counts of hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty, assault police officer in execution of duty, cause actual bodily harm, and breach of bail.
He was refused bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court today (Wednesday 4 September 2024).
