Senior officer injured after police vehicle allegedly deliberately rammed - Kellyville

A man will appear in court today after a police vehicle was allegedly deliberately rammed at Kellyville overnight, injuring a senior police officer.

Officers from The Hills Police Area Command were called to a home on Marsden Avenue about 8.30pm (Friday 5 April 2024), due to concerns for the welfare of a resident.

On arrival, a fully-marked NSW Police vehicle was allegedly rammed twice on the passenger side by a man driving a utility.

The officer, a Chief Inspector, suffered minor injuries; however, was able to call for urgent assistance before apprehending the man.

The 32-year-old was taken to Castle Hill Police Station where he has been charged with predatory driving; assault police (actual bodily harm); drive manner dangerous; and driver consume alcohol while driving.

He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 6 April 2024).

The Chief Inspector was checked at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital for treatment.
