Three men charged and more than $3m worth of cannabis seized - Chifley Police District

Three men have been charged following an investigation into the cultivation of cannabis with more than $3m worth of cannabis seized in the state’s Central Tablelands.
Just after 10am yesterday (Tuesday 29 July 2025), investigators attached to Chifley Police District executed two search warrants at homes in Bowenfels and Oberon as part of ongoing investigations into the cultivation of cannabis in the Chifley Police District area.
Upon arrival at the homes police discovered a large purpose-built cannabis cultivation operation, including lights, fans, watering system and fertilisation.
Police seized 410 cannabis plants, 100kgs of dried cannabis, and mobile phones from O’Donnell Drive, Bowenfels and Duckmaloi Road, Oberon.
The cannabis seized has an estimated potential street value of $3,685,000.
A short time before the search warrants, officers arrested three men inside a car that was parked on Magpie Hollow Road, Lithgow, and they were taken to Lithgow Police Station.
Three men – aged 41, 32, and 29 – were charged with knowingly take part-cultivate over commercial quantity-cannabis.
The men were refused bail and will appear at local bail division court 4, today (Wednesday 30 July 2025).
