Taskforce Falcon charge man following pursuit - Bass Hill

Officers attached to Taskforce Falcon have charged a man after an alleged pursuit in Sydney’s southwest last night.

About 9pm on Sunday 27 July 2025, officers attached to South West Metropolitan Region were conducting patrols of the Chester Hill area when they indicated for a ford Falcon to stop.

Police will allege the vehicle stopped on the Hume Highway, Yagoona; however, as police approached the vehicle it allegedly accelerated away.

A pursuit was initiated which continued along Adeline Street, before turning onto Hilda and Beatrice Street and continuing westbound along the Hume Highway towards Liverpool.

The pursuit was terminated after the vehicle allegedly crashed into two vehicles at the intersection of the Hume Highway and Woodville Road.

Police stopped and assisted the drivers who were treated for minor injuries at the scene.

The Ford Falcon allegedly continued along the Hume Highway before it was located by Polair, crashed into a tree at the intersection of the Hume Highway and the Horsley Drive, Lansdowne.

Police attended a short time later; however, the driver had allegedly left the scene.

Following inquiries – about 11.30pm (Sunday 27 July 2025) – police arrested a 35-year-old man hiding in a garage at a home on Rose Avenue, Mount Pritchard.

He was taken to Fairfield Police Station and charged with police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously, drive motor vehicle while licence suspended, negligent driving and fail to stop and assist after impact cause injury.

He was refused bail to appear before Fairfield Local Court today (Monday 28 July 2025).
