Appeal following offences on Sydney's rail network - Police Transport Command

Police are appealing for public assistance as investigations continue into two incidents on Sydney’s rail network.

About 10pm on Monday 26 May 2025, a 23-year-old man was standing on a platform at Westmead Railway Station when he was allegedly assaulted and threatened by an unknown man.

About 4.30pm on Sunday 1 June 2025, a 22-year-old woman was at Blacktown Railway Station, when three men approached her before one of men allegedly stole her mobile phone and left the scene.

Police were told they were not known to the woman; however, the woman had an argument with them on the train between Strathfield and Blacktown earlier that day.

As inquiries continue, officers attached to the Police Transport Command North West have released images of four people who they believe can assist with their inquiries.

The man at Westmead Railway Station is described as being of African appearance, believed to be aged in his 20s, with dark facial hair. He is depicted in image 1E wearing dark pants, a black jacket, white shoes and a long white scarf.

The first man at Blacktown Railway Station is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, believed to be aged in his 20s. He is depicted in image 1F wearing a black shirt, with a cream jumper on top.

The second man is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, aged in his 20s and seen in image 1G wearing a grey hoodie with the word ‘Hoodrich’ across the front and a black beanie.

The third man is described as being of Pacific Islander / Maori appearance, aged in his 20s. He is depicted in image 1H wearing a black t-shirt with red hoodie on top, black hat and glasses.
