Third man charged with murder; cash, drugs seized - Strike Force Apslawn

A third man has been charged as an investigation into the shooting death of a woman in Sydney’s south west continues.

Detectives attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command launched Strike Force Apslawn to investigate the death of the 65-year-old woman after a public-place shooting at her home in Dickens Road, Ambarvale, about 11pm on Monday 14 April 2025.

Following extensive inquiries, two men – aged 32 and 19 – were charged and remain before the courts.

About 9.25am today (Wednesday 23 July 2025), a 34-year-old man was arrested at Parramatta Police Station and charged with murder.

He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court today.

As a part of an ongoing investigation, strike force detectives executed a search warrant at a home on Parsons Street, Ashcroft, about 4pm yesterday (Tuesday 22 July 2025), where they arrested a 40-year-old man.

Police seized 11.3kg of cannabis, $91,600 cash, 31 mobile phone devices, a laptop computer and a knuckle duster.

The man was taken to Liverpool Police Station where he was charged with recklessly deal with proceeds of crime more than $5000, recklessly deal with proceeds of crime less than or equal to $5000, supply prohibited drug more than indictable and less than commercial quantity, and goods suspected stolen in/on premises.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday 13 August 2025.
