Woman dies following serious crash near Tamworth

A woman has died in hospital following a serious crash in the state’s northeast last week.
About 6am on Tuesday 15 July 2025, emergency services were called to the intersection of Wallamore Road and Evans Street, Westdale, about 10km west of Tamworth, following reports of a two-vehicle crash, involving a sedan and van.
The driver of a black Toyota Camry – a man aged 37 – and a female passenger – aged 38 – were trapped for a short time before they were extricated and treated on scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics.
They were taken to Tamworth Base Hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of a white Toyota van – a 55-year-old woman – was also treated on scene with injuries before she was airlifted to St George Hospital, Sydney.
Officers attached to Oxley Police District attended and commenced an investigation into the circumstances
surrounding the crash.
Today (Tuesday 22 July 2025), police were notified the 55-year-old woman had died in hospital.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
Inquiries into the crash are ongoing.
