Search underway after officers injured during attempted arrest - Hazelbrook

A search is underway after two police officers were injured while attempting to arrest a man in the Blue Mountains this morning.

Officers attached to Blue Mountains Police Area Command attempted to arrest a 34-year-old man in Railway Parade, Hazelbrook, about 10:20am today (Monday 21 July 2025), in relation to a pursuit through the mountains last week.

A Taser was deployed to affect the man’s arrest; however, a woman aged in her 30s allegedly intervened.

A struggle ensued between the officers and the man, during which they were allegedly punched in the head before the man ran away.

A search is now underway to locate the man; he is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 175cm-180cm tall, of thin build with blond hair and a ginger beard.

He was last seen wearing black pants and a black hoodie.
