ID sought after women pepper-sprayed on train - Police Transport Command

Police have released images of a man who maybe able to assist officers after two women were assaulted with pepper spray on a train in Sydney’s north west last month.

About 11.30pm on Saturday (14 June 2025), emergency services respond to reports of an assault at Lidcombe Railway Station.

Officers from Police Transport Command were informed that the women – both aged 22 – were travelling on a train between Circular Quay and Lidcombe Railway Stations when they were approached by a man not known to them.

After a short conversation the man has allegedly sprayed the women with pepper spray before entering another carriage.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the women at Lidcombe Railway Station before they were taken to Auburn Hospital in a stable condition.

Following extensive inquiries investigators would like to speak with a man who maybe able to assist police.

The man is described as Caucasian appearance, in his 20s, with a medium build, 170cm-175cm tall and at the time was wearing a dark blue cap, black headphones, olive green jacket and dark-coloured pants.

He was last seen leaving Parramatta Railway Station shortly before midnight.
