Teen charged after serious assault - Macquarie Park

A teenager has been charged a serious assault in Sydney’s north last week.

On Tuesday 8 July 2025, police commenced an investigation after a report of an alleged assault at a Macquarie Park shopping centre.

Officers attached to Ryde Police Area Command were told about 6pm that same day, a teenage boy allegedly rode towards a 68-year-old man on an electric scooter, before kicking him and then riding off.

The 68-year-old was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for serious shoulder and hand injuries.

Following extensive inquiries, police executed a search warrant at a home on Marsden Road, Carlingford, about 1.45pm yesterday (Wednesday 16 July 2025).

During the search, police allegedly located and seized $2,540 in cash, an amount of cannabis and personal items.

While police were conducting the search, a 17-year-old boy was arrested after allegedly attempting to run from the scene.

He was taken to Gladesville Police Station where he was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, recklessly deal with proceeds of crime less than $5,000 and possess prohibited drug (two counts).

The teen was granted conditional bail to appear before a children’s court on Monday 11 August 2025.
