An investigation is underway after luxury handbags were stolen in a ram raid in Sydney’s CBD this morning.
Officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command were called to the store at the intersection of Elizabeth and Market streets about 3:45am (Wednesday 16 July 2025), after an SUV was driven into the shop window.
Luxury handbags were taken before the group left in a white BMW wagon (NSW registration NCA59A) and a grey Audi S3 (NSW registration DMR81V).
The SUV – which remains at the scene – had been reported stolen from Waterloo early yesterday (Tuesday 15 July 2025).
Checks have now confirmed the two vehicles driven from the scene were stolen during a break-in at a home in Kingsford overnight.
A crime scene has been established in the CBD and examinations now underway to determine how many people were involved and how many bags have been stolen.
Police are urging anyone who sights the two outstanding vehicles not to approach but to call police immediately.
Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call Day Street Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is managed on a confidential basis. The public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages.
