Second person charged following 2020 robbery north of Wollongong

A second man has been charged following an alleged armed robbery and wounding in the Illawarra, nearly five years ago.
Police were called to a store on Cabbage Tree Lane, Fairy Meadow, following reports of an armed robbery, about 6.50pm on Tuesday 7 September 2020
Officers attached to Wollongong Police District responded and were told three males entered the store, when one allegedly stabbed the male store attendant in the thigh before stealing cash and cigarettes.
Two other store attendants were allegedly held by the other two males but were not physically injured.
The three left the store, last seen heading south onto Vereker Street, Fairy Meadow.
Last month, a 23-year-old man was arrested at Wollongong Police Station and charged with robbery armed with an offensive weapon cause wounding.
Following further inquiries, about 9.50am on Friday 11 July 2025, a 22-year-old man was arrested at Wollongong Police Station.
He was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon cause wounding/grievous bodily harm.
He was refused bail and appeared in Parramatta Local Court on Saturday 12 July 2025, where he was formally refused bail to appear in Wollongong Local Court on Wednesday 23 July 2025.
