Appeal to locate boy missing from Fairfield

Police are appealing for assistance to locate a boy missing from Sydney’s southwest.

Garang Mawein, aged 14, was last seen on Harris Street, Fairfield, about 11am yesterday (Saturday 12 July 2025).

Officers attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command were notified and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Police and family hold concerns for Garang’s welfare due to his age.

Garang is described as being of African appearance, of thin build, with short black hair.

He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, beige shorts and black shoes.

Garang is known to frequent the Fairfield and Merrylands areas.
