Man dies following unit fire - Kingscliff

A man has died following a unit fire in Kingscliff earlier this week.

About 7.30am on Monday 7 July 2025, emergency services were called to Monarch Drive, Kingscliff and found a single-level retirement unit well-alight.

An 85-year-old man who sustained severe burns and was taken to Royal Brisbane Hospital in a critical condition has since died from his injuries.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
