Rebels member charged by Raptor Squad for alleged fatal shooting of cat

Raptor Squad have charged an alleged Rebels OMCG member following the discovery of a video of a cat being shot and killed at point blank range.

On Saturday 28 June 2025, officers attached to Raptor Squad stopped an allegedly stolen Hino truck on Woodville Road in Villawood.

The Hino 300 series truck was allegedly stolen from Camden Valley Way in Leppington on Tuesday 3 June 2025.

During a search of the vehicle, officers located balaclavas, bolt cutters and gloves.

The driver of the car, a 29-year-old man with links to the Rebels OMCG, was spoken to by police and released pending further inquiries.

The man’s phone was also seized.

Forensic examination of the man’s phone revealed evidence of firearm use, including video of a caged cat being shot and killed at point blank range.

About 1pm on Wednesday 2 July 2025, officers executed a search warrant in Rosemeadow.

During a search of the address, police located and seized the butt of rifle, a taser, $18,400 in cash, 170 vials of human growth hormones, a CCTV and a ‘Rebels’ branded vest.

A 29-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Campbelltown Police Station where he was charged with drive conveyance taken without consent of owner, possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit and possess/attempt to, prescribed restricted substance.

He was refused bail and appeared in Parramatta Local Court on Thursday 3 July 2025, where he was formally granted conditional bail.

Following further inquiries, about 7pm yesterday (Tuesday 8 July 2025), the 29-year-old man was rearrested in Rosemeadow and taken to Campbelltown Police Station, where he was charged with use unauthorised prohibited firearm, fire firearm manner likely injure persons/property and torture, beat etc and cause death of animal.

He was refused bail to appear in Campbelltown Local Court today (Wednesday 9 July 2025).
