Guns seized, two in custody after pursuit - Central Coast

Three guns have been seized and a couple is in police custody after a pursuit through the Central Coast this morning.

Officers attached to Brisbane Water Police District attempted to stop a sedan on Del Rio Drive, Copacabana, about 7:40am today (Monday 7 July 2025); when the driver allegedly failed to stop when directed, a pursuit was initiated.

The sedan was involved in a minor collision with a police vehicle, causing minor damage, but failed to stop. No injuries were reported. The pursuit continued north through Kincumber, Avoca and Terrigal.

The sedan turned onto Cabarita Street, Wamberal, where it has crashed. A 27-year-old man and 33-year-old woman were arrested at the scene. When police searched the sedan three firearms were located. They’ve been taken for further examination.

The man and woman have been taken to Gosford Police Station.
